Looking to get your mitts on a Kindle but don’t want to shell out the $189 bucks it costs to buy one. Then try to score a free Kindle via one of the methods below. If you happen to snag one, do let us know in the comment area.
1. Giveaway – many companies give away Kindles (100% free) to bring buzz and PR their way. They usually will put out a press release announcing their Kindle giveaway and this is then picked up by Google news. To find companies giving away a Kindle simply perform a search on big G with the term “Kindle giveaway” and see what comes up, then enter the giveaway and good luck.
2. Blog Contests - blog owners love to hold contests to get the word out on their cool new blog site, product or service. The prizes usually consist of many items and many times one of these may include an iPad or Kindle. The reason is that these two gadgets are highly coveted and just about everyone wants one. Right? Follow the simple steps above to find blog contests giving away a free Kindle, make sure you locate contests that haven’t expired.
3. Work For It - this method requires labor, but it doesn’t have to intensive. It could consist of performing rudimentary tasks for a family member, friend or neighbor and with the funds acquired through this project you could score a Kindle.
4. Retailer Promotions – pick up a Sunday paper and you might be surprised at the many retailers who are offering up a Kindle to get you into their store. Search and see who this week might be offering one up in exchange for your kind visit.
5. Ask Friends and Family Members - did a family member or friend recently buy the new Kindle 3 and now has an older version to get rid of? Then let it be known you’re on the prowl for one, call and ask or let it be known through the grapevine. (see below)
6. Put Out an APB in Your Social Network – one of the best ways to get the word out about anything is via the peeps you have on your Facebook and Twitter accounts. Post a status and make mention that you would love to take an older model Kindle of anyones hands.
7. Make a Trade – another good method to score a free Kindle e-reader is to go to one of the many popular trade sites and seek out someone who would love your older model laptop, digital cam, video game console or other slightly dated tech for their gently used Kindle. You might be pleasantly surprised at what people are looking to trade.
